We often don't think about this step in the interview process. The impression you leave the interviewer with has the same weight as the impression you come in with. Closing the interview effectively will make you memorable, and leave you feeling confident after it's over.

The closing part of an interview is easy to overlook. Most people spend so much time preparing for the questions that they probably don’t think much about what to say in the last few minutes. I liked the advice about showing genuine interest in the position and asking what happens next. It feels much better than just saying “thank you” and walking out without really knowing anything. The suggestion to ask whether there are any concerns about your fit is a little uncomfortable, but I can see why it could be useful.
